LEARNING ECO-SYSTEM AT NIHM

The teaching infrastructure and support facilities at NIHM are geared to provide our students an engaging and stimulating learning experience. The classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aides. Our state-of-the-art labs provide invaluable practical experience that helps them to understand and apply (in almost real-life!) the theoretical concepts they have learnt.

The Kitchen
Our food production lab is well equipped with all the latest catering equipment’s and appliances. The modern and advanced lab allows students to practice their skills in a professional environment setup by the institute to give them a feel of working in the industry.

The Bakery
Those sweet-smelling delicacies and tempting dishes are not a piece of cake to make!
One requires certain skill sets and understanding to excel at the art of making food. At our Bakery and Confectionery Lab, we assure to inculcate required skills to make excellent baked products and confectionery.

The Accommodation
The institute also provides housekeeping practical training in its magnificent and well-maintained Guest room and practical lab. Housekeeping department emphasizes on the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of all the areas in accordance with the standards maintained in the hospitality industry.

The Front Office
This modern lab provides a professional environment to the students while practicing a role play or situation handling in concern with the practical’s conducted in front office department. The gracious interiors and luxurious furniture sophisticated lighting at the lobby area with its beautiful reception counter is a delight for hospitality trainees to work.

The Restaurant
Our food and beverage lab is well equipped with all the modern amenities and equipment. Practical trainees feel delighted and keener to learn and do their practical assignments with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Students here learn pros and cons of beverage service and various bar operation, like bar management, bar operation, inventories, building procedure various garnishes etc.

Chef Prashanth Chembala, carries with him 18 years of quality Food & Beverage experience with entrepreneurial accomplishment. Beginning the career with Oberoi Hotels and Resorts, Mumbai, spreading his wings beyond India, he steps his foot into another aspect of management as an Executive Chef of Velassaru, Maldives. Chef has honed his craft in kitchens at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, USA. Working as a Corporate Chef for 7 years with LPQ India opened his doors to entrepreneurship.

Ambili Nair

She is the Founder and Business Development Leader of Bistro Brain Hospitality Services LLP – a company catering to restaurant and hotel consulting that was started with her husband and partner Chef Prashanth Chembala in 2018. She is also a dual Science Post Graduate with B.Ed degree and worked as Secondary Level Teacher with renowned ICSE board school. She has worked with brands like Motilal Oswal and TCS with over 6 years of experience in Team Management, Client Relations and Communication and Business Development. Her area of interest involves supporting NIHM team in developing a brand using her corporate exposure, business acumen and passion for teaching.
